1st Edition, 2007
Deitch Projects

£150

Featuring Kembra Pfahler on the cover – her body forced through a meat grinder in a direct nod to a notorious Hustler image – this catalogue documents Womanizer, the 2007 group exhibition she co-curated with Julie Atlas Muz at Deitch Projects.

Bringing together a cast of 'dangerous females,' the exhibition included figures such as Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Vaginal Davis, spanning performance, photography, sculpture and video. The result is a raw, transgressive vision of femininity, rooted in excess, humour, horror and bodily ritual.

Pfahler’s own work – typical of her wider practice – draws on shock aesthetics, DIY performance and what she terms 'availabilism': using the body as both medium and message.

Condition: Good (minor signs of wear) Unpaginated, 20 × 30cm
