An early pioneer of conceptual art, Stephen Willats’ Doppelgänger was published to coincide with an exhibition at the Lisson Gallery in London in 1985. Focusing on three individuals (a civil servant, a stockbroker and a manageress) this small and hard-to-find artist book explores their transitions from daytime roles to their nighttime identifications with subcultures.
