The much mythologized Just Another Asshole was a submissions-based, multi-format publication edited by Barbara Ess from 1978 to 1987. Each issue took multiple forms – from an LP record album, limited-edition zine and even spreads in Artforum – it captured the no-wave spirit and scene of lower Manhattan. Issue #6 contained writings by sixty one artists from the early-80s downtown scene including Jenny Holzer, Kathy Acker, David Wojnarowicz, Cookie Mueller and Linda Yablonsky. This is the original first edition published in 1983.
