Britney Spears appears on the cover of the Autumn/Winter 2010 issue of POP, with art direction by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. Styled by Vanessa Reid and photographed by Todd Cole, American and Japanese pop culture collides as the star is repackaged by the ‘Warhol of Japan’ as a magical bride inspired by manga, posing with a Hello Kitty flip phone and a Japanese school bag. The issue includes an interview with Spears and a sticker sheet of Murakami’s iconic multi-coloured flower motifs, along with a limited-edition Cindy Sherman bookzine featuring the artist wearing Chanel Haute Couture by Karl Lagerfeld.
