In conjunction with the exhibition Richard Prince: Cowboy at the Gladstone gallery, in 2015, this small, unsigned catalog was published by Aaron Krach. It contains an exceptional essay by the artist yet was distributed clandestinely. This version is available to the public as an artist book. The original exhibition consisted of one sculpture, a painted-bronze cast of a boy dressed as a cowboy standing on a plywood pedestal. Prince produced Cowboy, the sculpture, in an edition of 5, each with a slightly different color shirt. Krach’s book follows the same format, each version with a different photograph inserted inside is printed only five times, yet the number of new versions is potentially infinite.
