Weekend Super magazine was published in Japan in the 1970s and 80s, marking the early stages of photographer Nobuyoshi Araki and editor Akira Suei’s publishing collaboration. Suei’s magazines were notorious throughout Japan for the erotic photo series he would publish, which introduced work by the likes of Araki and Daido Moriyama. Araki had regular series in Weekend Super in the late 1970s – ‘Actresses’ and ‘Pseudo-Reportage’. This issue is from February 1980 and features a ‘Happy New Year’ wish on its cover.
