Packaged in a clear yellow plastic dustjacket, Richard Kern's cult and long out of print book XXGirls contains his early black and white images of women from New York's downtown art and music scene – including Lydia Lunch, Lung Leg and Kim Gordon. Published by Tokyo Gallery, Fiction inc, in 1996 it was a way for Kern to get some of his erotic images from his New York Girls book past the censors in Japan.
