A time capsule of Björk’s early output that doubles as a visual manifesto, A Project by Björk brings together a decade-spanning archive of imagery and ideas published to coincide with the iconic Icelandic musician’s fourth studio album, Vespertine. Designed by long-time collaborators of Björk, Parisian art duo M/M (Paris), this close document of the artist features what were then never before published images from her extensive visual universe including behind-the-scenes photographs and unreleased portraits, design mockups from her album packaging, music videos and tour visuals. A conversation with David Attenborough discussing the biological roots of pop music and gibbon calls alongside contributions from many of her most trusted collaborators including Jeremy Scott, Glen Luchford, David Sims, Rankin, Juergen Teller, Craig McLean, Nick Knight, Nobuyoshi Araki and Inez & Vinoodh, crafts a portrait of Björk as she becomes one of culture’s most enduring visionaries.
