An artist book published as an additional component of Carolee Schneemann’s 1991 exhibition Scroll Paintings With Exploded TV at the San Francisco Art Institute. Through her vast practice–largely including performance where her body was explored as both a source of knowledge and experience–the American artist became a radical force in challenging representations of women’s bodies in art and wider culture. This book's contents are composed of black and white images generated from Schneemann’s drawing sequence VIDEO BURN (1987–1991) collaged with video stills of religious and political imagery, and nude self portraits of the artist overlaid with text and television interference.
