A small but perfect book focusing on Rineke Dijkstra’s arresting portraits, published on the occasion of her solo show at ICA Boston in 2001. It features the artist’s Bathers series of awkward teenagers on the beaches of South Carolina, Poland, Coney Island, Belgium and Ukraine, New Mothers in Amsterdam, Almerisa an ongoing body of work of a then six-year-old girl whose family had relocated to Amsterdam from war-torn Bosnia in 1994, and video stills from her infamous The Buzzclub, Liverpool, UK & Mysteryworld, Zaandam, NL series taken between 1996 and 1997.
