Bringing together a selection of photographs by Kishin Shinoyama originally published in early-2000s issues of the Japanese car magazine Navi, Car Girl pairs Japanese actresses and public figures of the era with rare car models from the 1960s. As they pose in and around the luxury vehicles, the dynamic compositions printed in full-bleed across glossy, double-page spreads highlight the cars' unique design features and the personalities of these iconic actors. The book is reminiscent of Shinoyama’s earlier, hard-to-find book Drive, which also explored the relationship between people and luxury automobiles.
