Pul Ke Niche is the first book by Nick Sethi. Shot in New Delhi, India it's an exploration of his family's frenetic and free-spirited homeland (Sethi was raised in America, but is of Indian heritage). Focusing on the children and families who lived under New Delhi's freeways, Sethi's candid documentary image making is juxtaposed with surreal scenarios and a tenderness, highlighting the 'wrongness' of their situation. Over the years, Sethi would return to them frequently, developing close bonds that would manifest in his 2018 book, Khichdi (Kitchari).
