A rare book of photos by the influential Japanese photographer Hiromix of teen pop sensation Tomoe Shinohara. In intimate, tender portraits, many depicting an 18-year-old Shinohara in her old school classroom, Hiromix (real name Toshikawa Hiromi) provides an alternative view of the singer, whose distinctive, vivid style inspired Decora and Harajuku fashion. Including an interview and texts written by Shinohara, as well as letters to Hiromix from the singer, the book provides an insight into the mind of a young Japanese pop star at the height of fame, presented in Hiromix’s distinctive style that chronicled 90s Japanese youth culture.
